JOB DESCRIPTION

Bouzy Rouge Hotel is seeking an experienced Sous Chef, passionate about Mediterranean/Spanish cuisine to join the culinary team at our upscale restaurant in the heart of Richmond, VIC. As Sous Chef, you will play a key role supporting the Executive Chef in the day-to-day management of the kitchen, ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation and service. This is a full-time, ongoing position.

What you'll be doing

  • Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations

  • Prepare and execute a variety of traditional and modern tapas dishes

  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentations and consistency

  • Lead, mentor and inspire the kitchen team

  • Manage inventory, ordering and kitchen organization

  • Ensure food safety and cleanliness standards always met


RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Sous chef

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3-5 year's experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

  • Excellent culinary skills and a deep understanding of food preparation and presentation techniques

  • Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices

  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure

  • Passion for creating exceptional dining experiences and a commitment to delivering high-quality food
